Industrial Rectifier

Marine & Shipbuilding Sector (Greece) – 145VDC 700A Modular Rectifier Power Supply System Design and Manufacturing

The 145VDC 700A Modular Rectifier commissioned in Greece in 2024 is a high-power feeding system designed for the harsh conditions of the marine and shipbuilding sector. It features redundant architecture with 26 x 4400W power modules and full electrical isolation via a 125kVA isolation transformer.

Project Details

In this project successfully completed in 2024 in Greece, we designed and manufactured a 145VDC 700A Modular Rectifier Power Supply System in compliance with the uncompromising standards of the marine and shipbuilding sector.

To combat the high risks of humidity, salinity, corrosion and wear encountered in marine applications, tin-plated busbars compliant with international shipbuilding standards were used throughout the system, ensuring a long-lasting infrastructure with maximum conductivity.

The system is equipped with 26 x 4400W power modules that share power in a balanced and redundant manner. SPD (Surge Protection Device) and high short-circuit current protection breakers are integrated at the input section against sudden voltage surges during grid and generator transitions. Motor-controlled breakers are designed to be fully compatible with automation systems including automatic start-up after blackout. The 125kVA isolation transformer at the input stage provides full electrical isolation between the ship's grid and DC loads, bringing system safety to the highest level.
